Garth Brooks Helps Couple Reveal Sex Of Baby In The Most Epic Way

If you thought baby sex reveals were played out, it’s because you haven’t seen this one yet

Creative ways to reveal an unborn baby’s sex are all the rage right now — you see them all over social media as couples try to find the cutest and most creative ways to let friends and family know if they’re having a boy or a girl.

Those can all stop, because nothing will ever top this.

Wesley and Katy Hansen are expecting their first baby in December, and they had a pretty out-there idea for revealing the sex. Both Hansens have been Garth Brooks fans since they were kids, and right after getting a sealed envelope containing their baby’s gender, they had tickets to his Los Angeles show. They admit they thought it would never work, but went for it anyway: They made a poster asking Brooks to reveal the sex of their unborn baby.

“The back story starts about a month prior to the concert,” Wesley tells Love What Matters. “We had scheduled our ultrasound for, what turned out to be, the day before the concert. When we figured that out a few days later, Katy mentioned the idea of making a sign, thinking about how cool it would be if Garth revealed our baby gender. We knew it was a slim chance but worth a shot. Prior to making the sign, I was the one who was skeptical. After, Katy made the sign and we were inside the venue, Katy started to say, ‘it’s never going to happen, let’s just open it.'”

Good thing they didn’t, because their sign caught Brooks’ attention. He took the envelope, and in a truly adorable moment that was caught on tape for us all to enjoy, he revealed the sex.

“I gotta tell you, I’m extremely happy for you,” Brooks said from the stage, his voice cracking with emotion, “because I’ve got three of these.”

Brooks has three daughters. The crowd erupted into cheers as he revealed that the Hansens’ baby will be a girl.

The excitement didn’t end there, though. While the Hansens were still hugging and celebrating, Brooks made them an incredible promise.

“Let’s make a deal,” he said. “If I’m still alive when Brooks goes to college, we’ll pay for her college.”

Wesley Hansen tells Scary Mommy the whole experience was surreal.

In the moment, nothing feels real,” he explained. “It’s almost like an out-of-body experience. It didn’t really sink in for Katy and I until days later. A lot about it still doesn’t feel real! For them to take the time out of their show, to include us in such a special moment, is beyond our wildest dreams and we could not be more thankful.”

It might be the most special reveal that’s ever happened, and the Hansens intend to remember it forever. The name they picked out for their little girl? Brooks.
